Cheating On a Low-Carb Diet – Is There Any Hope?

Low-carb dieters come in several varieties. 1. There are the die-hards who believe you should never ever cheat on a low-carb diet, even on holidays or your birthday. They have a particular list of low-carb foods that they believe everyone should stick to, and if you eat something that is not on their acceptable list, you’re not truly committed to your low-carb lifestyle. 2. Then there are those who take up the low-carb baton, willingly, but aren’t as fanatical about the details. They’re much more flexible about the whole process. They eat what they believe are low-carb foods, but don’t count how many carbohydrates they’re eating. They don’t know if they are within standard low-carb guidelines, but aren’t concerned about it because they’re either losing weight their own way, or they’re happy with their improved health. They will go off plan on holidays, their birthdays, and sometimes during social engagements, but then they’ll climb right back into the wagon and continue their low-carb

How to Survive Halloween on a Low-Carb Diet (Photo by ylacarmoberg ) As Halloween approaches, a house loaded with Halloween candy for the neighborhood kiddies becomes a major problem for many low-carb dieters. My husband loves his mini candy bars and Tootsie Rolls , so I can certainly sympathize and relate. In fact, he started asking me on the very first day of October when I was going to buy the Halloween candy. Although he eats candy regularly – now that he’s given up smoking – he has a special fondness for Halloween. To him, it just isn’t Halloween without candy. He tries to be sneaky about it. The candy is for all of those trick-or-treaters. We can’t disappoint the neighborhood kids, so maybe we should buy the candy early. That way we won’t have to settle for what’s leftover in the stores on the day before Halloween. I only played that game once. Once was more than enough to figure out I’d been duped. We live about half a dozen blocks from the local church, or less, so we don’t get

ryan: hey, hey everybody out there. this isryan from gmb. today i have the one and only nate miyaki with me. not miyagi, not to beconfused with the karate kid sensei. but nate, you are an ultimate sensei, aren’t you? nate: that’s what they say man. that’swhat they say. my dad kind of looks like mr. miyagi. i won’t be offended if you get alittle confused there. ryan: yeah. well, i’m always confused butyou know that. i will just let everybody know nate is actually my nutrition coach. he hasbeen helping me to get – i don’t want to say back on track but really solidify mynutrition and it’s great. i love working with nate. he’s a good guy. we kind of havea mutual friend over in san francisco so we’ve known each other for quite a while now butwe haven’t really even met yet. so one of these days hopefully we can meetface to face but nate and i, pretty good friends and today we’re going to be talking allabout you. so let’s just keep going with this. is that
