apple cider vinegar vinaigrette recipe
hey there, this is lacey baier with a sweetpea chef, and today we are going to be making an easy hot apple cider recipe. i love breakingout this recipe to celebrate the holiday season. you are going to love the way your house smellslike cinnamon, and cloves, and apples, and oranges all simmering away on the stove. it'sreally better than any candle you could buy. let's get started. i also enjoy the look on dustin's face wheni hand him a big steaming glass of this hot apple cider. though, i always have to tellhim not to drink it because it's too hot right away because we both know if i don't tellhim he's going to go straight for it. alright. so, we are going to start by heatingup the apple juice in a deep large pot over
medium-heat. when you are picking out yourapple, you want to make sure you get a sweet apple like a fuji or a gala or golden delicious, something that's going to really bring a sweetness to the cider. if you chose something likea granny smith, it would add to much tartness. so, we are going to slice the apple in halfand we are going to remove the stem. if you can see any of the seeds, go ahead and removethose. if you can't see them, that means that they are not going to fall out when you arecooking it. so, don't worry about it. now we are going to take the whole cloves, andwe are going to start poking them into the apple. don't worry about where they are going.you want to put it on the skin side, on the cut side, all around until those cloves arein the apple.
this is a neat little trick that makes itso the cloves don't go astray when you are cooking it and you don't have to pick up allthe little pieces. instead, when you take the apple out, you take the cloves out also.now we are going to grab the orange, and i use navel orange for this recipe but if youhave a valencia that would work also. go ahead and start slicing it up into about quadrantslices, maybe a little bit larger and keep the peel on the orange because that's goingto add a lot of flavor to the cider. now that the apple juice is nicely heatedthrough, we going to add the brown sugar, and we're going to stir until it all dissolves.now, we are going to put in all of the rest of the ingredients. so, grab the apple halves, the sliced oranges, the cinnamon sticks, the
ground nutmeg, and the allspices and stirto combine. what we wanting to do here is to bring it to a simmer and allow to cookfor about twenty minutes to get all the flavors nicely incorporated. now that it's cooked,go ahead and remove the fruit and the cinnamon sticks. we want to make sure to do this prettypromptly after it's been cooking for 20 minutes, otherwise the flavor will get a little strong.okay. now that your house smells amazing, go ahead and pour yourself a cup of this delicioushot apple cider. thank you, i hope you enjoyed this video.as always checked out the rest of it below and never miss a new recipe video by subscribingto the channel. i'll see you next time. lacy baier here with...
