hey guys today we're making the spiced orangecider smoothie. for those of you who are new, welcome, myname is jenna and i'm the founder of greenblender and greenblender is a smoothie delivery service. every week we send all the pre-portioned ingredientsand superfoods to make amazing smoothies at home and then every day right here with youi make one of these smoothies and it is really fun to connect with everyone please feel freeto put your name, where you're watching from, in the comments below. let's get started we are going to be making, like i said before, the spiced orange cider smoothie.

it is coming with-- a tbsp of apple cidervinegar. now, apple cider vinegar is certainly an acquiredtaste it is very alkalizing, so it helps move your body's ph back into...an alkalized state. standard american diet we eat a lot of acidicfoods, mostly red meat, processed foods, dairy, and because of all of that we need to focuson eating fresh fruits and vegetables. most of them are alkalizing so -- apple cidervinegar is one of those awesome really great for you, it helps with anti-inflammatory,if you have any sort of congestion you can be bold and take a tablespoon of it straightbut i would suggest either making a smoothie with it, putting it with some hot water andlemon and drinking it in the morning.

my sister is an actor and she's a singer andi know that she takes apple cider vinegar every morning when she has congestion, itjust clears out the sinuses and makes it really good, but that being said has kind of a vinegartaste, it is apple cider vinegar after all, and if you like kombucha it kind of tasteslike kombucha. a strong kombucha. so. let's talk about what's in this awesome smoothie. we are going to be working with a handfulof collard greens, two clementines, half a lemon, and tbsp of pea protein, and -- a fourthof a teaspoon of cloves, and half an avocado.

this smoothie really has it all. it's gonna help you make have a great complexion,it's immune boosting, it's high fiber, it's high protein, and it's low calorie so i don'tknow if you could get a better smoothie than this. for those of you who don't know, avocadosactually have protein in them as long with collard greens and of course pea protein, which is one of my favorite protein powders. it's just single source vegan, if you haveany trouble digesting whey, or soy products, pea protein is a really great substitute ifyou want to up your protein intake. alright.

so let's blend this up. gonna throw in a cup of water, love me thewater, alright and then some collard greens, i do love adding collard greens i think thatthey are very easy to blend, they don't have strong flavor, they also have a little protein,a lot of vegetables that you might not realize have protein in them. i'll put up a link with some of the lesserknown protein sources from plants -- it's really incredible, you don't always need tohave protein powders --- ---- ---- you don't always need protein powders to getprotein and you don't have to eat meat to have protein.

so avocados are a good example of a proteinsource and collard greens are also so i'm gonna throw in a half an avocado, if you likeusing avocados i would suggest starting with a fourth to a half, they make a really awesomecreamy smoothie but they also mute the flavor of your smoothie so if you're gonna be usingavocado, less is more, and use or pair them with stronger flavors so that you're not, like, it doesn't taste like you're just having a muted pudding. so that's why we paired it with some richcitruses, some lemons, the apple cider vinegar, clove. of course if you don't like apple cider vinegar, don't put apple cider vinegar into the smoothie,

you can skip it, you can skip anything thatyou are a little wary about. i'm gonna throw in the pea protein. i'm putting in cloves because i want to makeit a nice winter smoothie, but if you don't like cloves or you don't want that spice youcan always use cinnamon or you can skip it altogether. alright here's the apple cider vinegar, onetbsp. it does smell like apple cider vinegar, it'sa little vinegar-y but i do love it. it's an acquired taste to say the least. this is the first week we're working withthis guy, which is really fun, thanks mom,

for showing me that i needed this in my life, look how much! it's like all the lemon juice you could possibly want, and no seeds, nopulp, it works way better than your hand because that's what i used to be using. now i know. all of the lemons. ok, here we go. a little ice, let's blend it up, see how itgoes! * ~ blender whirring ~ * alright, you cansee it is very creamy, because of that avocado,

very thick, if you like a thinner smoothieadd a little more water, or your favorite nut milk. here it is. beautiful green. -- good! the clove is in there. i think it really pulls well with the lemonand the apple cider vinegar. it is a tart smoothie. the clementines make it a little more watery.

not watery, juicy. and the avocado in there just makes it verycreamy, a milkshake-y kind of smoothie. it's a great smoothie for winter day in asnowstorm. it's gonna help clear out your sinuses, especiallyafter a day of sledding, if that's what you're
