alright guys, i'm gonna show you how to make pickles. really simple recipe that my chef brother developed. our version today, we're using dill, cucumbers, apple cider vinegar, maple syrup, fennel seeds, and mustard seeds. there's some of the distinguishing ingredients that are gonna play up the flavors. there's so many different ways you can
interpret this. you can use carrots, cauliflower, you can use white wine vinegar, you can use honey, there's so many different ways to interpret this. this is my version. so simple let's get into it. just going to add in a nice chunk of sea salt there, get there going. equal portions filtered water as we do apple cider vinegar. such a great ingredient,
apple cider vinegar, it's so harsh so i probably don't enjoy it as much as i should, but it's really alkalizing. generous portion of maple syrup there and we're just going to put this on the stove until it boils. while that's going -- we've got that boiling we want to prepare our cucumbers. i've given myself a head start here with a few
pre-prepared and i'm gonna shove these cucumber batons in. so you can use the discs, you know the traditional burger looking pickle disk but i like the batons. shove some dill in there, works really well with pickling. just going to push that down. sprinkle on our fennel seeds and mustard seeds. so i can smell that apple cider
vinegar just wafting through my kitchen. i can also hear the bubbles so now it's go time. so i don't burn myself i'm just going to put it back into this glass container, help me with my pouring. fill it up, i want to fully submerge it, and put the lid on it. i'll come back to the other two. put the lid on there. i just want it to cool down to room temperature.
once it's there i'm gonna put it in the fridge. it's going to stay fresh for a couple of months believe it or not, until i open it then i've got about seven days to get through it. i love coming home to them, sort of four, five o'clock, pre-dinner when i'm famished and i'm about to do some damage to the pantry, or the fridge, i turn to these.
