apple cider is the perfect comfort drink duringthe cold months and especially during the holiday season. today i'll show you an easy way to make ahealthy version without any added sugar. depending on where you live, apple cider maybe readily available. in some places, it's only available during the christmas season. you can find it in liquid form and powderform but i'm not a fan of the powder form because it's loaded with sugar. so when i feel like a cozy cup of cider, imake my own version of this traditional favorite. in a saucepan, add 3 cups of apple juice.i only use apple juice that's not from concentrate,
as this means the juice is in it's originalform with no water or no sugar added. it also has a shorter shelf life, which i prefer. next add 2 cinnamon sticks, 4 whole cloves,and half of a navel orange. i like to squeeze the juice from the orange wedges before addingto the mixture. cook over medium heat for about 8-10 minutesuntil the cider is hot…it does not need to boil. when ready, ladle into your mug. then garnishwith a cinnamon stick. i find this recipe is sweet enough, but ifyou'd like more sweetness, you could add a teaspoon of maple syrup during the heatingprocess.
